Search Mask Tip

Answer

Question: Is it possible to use logical operations in the fields of a filter? I'm trying to get all the games in a database which were NOT played by some players. I know that I have the "Not" checkbox which will get me the inverse of the filter but, what if I want to get all the games not played by 2 players? Can I do an OR operation in the "White" or "Black" fields? Can I apply more than one filter? I can't find a way to do what I'm looking for.

Answer: No, for the moment it's not possible to use logical operations in the fields.

But you can do it as follows:

  • Create a copy of your database.
  • Open the player tab.
  • Select ther first player you don't want and delete all his games.
  • Select the second player and delete all games not yet deleted.
  • Go on with the other players you don't want.
  • Then all games not deleted are the games you locked for.
  • Copy them to another database e.g.
  • Search for all games which are deleted ( second tab in the search mask )
  • Select all and choosing "delete" again will mark them as undeleted ( it's a toggle operation )
